Enleyona grew up in Jamaica and moved to Tougaloo, Mississippi where she received her B.S. in Chemistry with a minor in Mathematics from Tougaloo College. Her research ranged from studying the structure and binding activity of Flavone Prototypes with Human Serum Albumin to synthesizing a diverse group of complex compounds from natural products. In the van der Donk lab, Enleyona focuses on the identification and characterization of class II lanthipeptides.
