Tony grew up in Changchun, China. He received his B.S. in Chemistry at Shanghai Jiao Tong University, where he worked in Prof.Tao Li's lab and researched on discovery of disazo small molecules that can absorb sunlight for energy storage. Tony joined the van der Donk lab in 2022 Fall, and currently works on the discovery of BGCs containing possible bioactive novel Class I lanthipeptides.
