Garrett grew up in Waterloo, Illinois. He is currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in Biochemistry with a minor in chemistry. He joined the van der Donk group in Fall 2022 as a laboratory technician. In Spring 2023 he began working with Alexis to investigate enolate intermediate stabilization by CylM. In Spring 2024 he began working with Emily on his current project, investigating enolate intermediate stabilization by ProcM.
